Los Angeles Bus Surrounded by LAPD Amid Reported Hijacking

A Los Angeles bus has been surrounded by LAPD amid reports of an incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Various reports online are claiming the bus has been hijacked, and that it may have hostages on board, including the bus driver.
Online images and a live stream from local news reporters show an MTA bus stopped at the side of the road, with an armored police vehicles in front of it, and an armed SWAT team at the scene.
AB7 helicopter reporter Chris Christi wrote on X the bus had been travelling in the wrong direction.
The location of the incident appears to be where 6th Street meets South Alameda Street.
Newsweek has contacted the LAPD by phone and email for comment, but has not yet received a response.
At 02:47 a.m. PT, X user @Raw_Reporting wrote that the SWAT team deployed flash bangs through the driver’s side window, and that the driver had escaped.
Another user, @_PalenstineFree, posted a picture of a SWAT truck beside the bus.
At 02:56 a.m., user @TraceOperations reported that fire and rescue were on board the bus.
The LAPD media relations department wrote on X at 03:36 a.m. that it was en route to the scene and would provide additional information soon.
